Snowflake, Arizona
Snowflake is in East-central Arizona and located 30 miles South of Holbrook on Highway 77. The Mogollon Rim and White Mountains to the West and South of Snowflake creates an almost continuous barrier protecting the townsite from severe winter conditions and providing for a semi-arid climate. Founded in 1878, Snowflake is at an elevation of 5,600' and is named for its Mormon founders, Apostle Erastus Snow and land agent William Flake. Snowflake has a population of about 5,100 people.
